About Tommy / Bio
Originally from the beautiful port city of Wilmington, NC, Tommy Kane has called Atlanta home for over 29 years. After graduating from NC State University in 1993, he moved to the peach state to start his career in the sports television world.
For the first 14 years of his career, Tommy worked at Fox Sports Net South in Atlanta. He spent most of that time as a producer/director (and later as a manager) of the Creative Services department. Tommy left FSN
in March of 2008 to channel his energy and time to developing both his video production company,
PACK30 PRODUCTIONS, LLC, as well as his on-camera talents.
During his TV career, Tommy has garnered over 32 regional Emmy nominations and has taken home 13 regional Emmy Awards, over 22 national Telly Awards and 4 Communicator Awards.
Since leaving FSN, Tommy Kane’s on-air talent / acting career has taken off!
For 8 years, Tommy was the host of the multiple award winning ACC ROAD TRIP. During that time, Kane was also reporting for the ACC football game of the week pre-game show – ACC BLITZ and the
Emmy Award winning show Football Saturdays, hosted by Tim Brando.
He was recognized for his reporting and hosting skills when he won the 2011 Southeast regional
Emmy Award for best “On-Air Talent – Reporter – Sports.” And in 2010, he was honored as an Official Honoree in the 14th Annual Webby Awards in the BEST REALITY / VARIETY HOST category for his work on ACC ROAD TRIP. (The Webby’s are the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet.)
Based in Atlanta, GA, Tommy Kane is a multi-talented, Emmy Award winning on-air host / reporter, as well as an actor, emcee, motivational speaker and model. (He is also an award winning producer and director.)
As an actor, Tommy Kane played the role of reporter Mark Melon in the major motion picture FLIGHT which was directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forest Gump, Back To The Future). In his scenes, Kane worked with both Denzel Washington (who was nominated for an Oscar for his role) and John Goodman.
Tommy also played the role of a reporter in the Clint Eastwood directed movie – RICHARD JEWELL. Kane worked with Kathy Bates, Sam Rockwell and Paul Walter Houser in his scenes. And in 2020, Tommy landed a role in the movie DEAR EVAN HANSEN and worked with Ben Platt.
Tommy Kane has also worked a numerous TV shows over the past few years. He is a recurring character (reporter, John Webb) on the hit TV CW show BLACK LIGHTNING. He has also appeared in the TV shows: NASHVILLE, Tyler Perry’s The Have and Have Nots, Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, BET’s The Game as well as MTV’s Teen Wolf. In the creatively written Christian film, Generosity, he played a prosecutor in a fantastic court room scene.
Since 2019, Tommy Kane has been the host of the Emmy Award winning show - HOT WHEELS MONSTER TRUCKS LIVE – CRUSHING IT. A national show that he co-hosts with Kristen Beat and is produced by Raycom-Legacy. He has also filled in as one of the in-arena announcers for the live tour.
Tommy also does talent, acting and modeling work on various commercials and projects around the country. He has appeared in numerous commercials for companies such as Walmart, MetLife, IcyHot, Zaxby’s, Cadillac, Mizuno and TBS. He has also done a plethora of work hosting industrial videos for big name clients like Chick-Fil-A, Morrison Healthcare, Chevron, AutoTrader, Old Dominion Freight Lines, Home Depot, WEB MD, AT&T and UPS.
Tommy Kane has always enjoyed being in front of a crowd. For 14 years he emceed the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament’s halftime contests and promotions that took place at center court. He also emceed the ACC Fan Fest during the tournament weekends. In addition, he has emceed all the events surrounding the ACC FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS (2011-14) as well as the 2012 BELK BOWL in Charlotte, N.C.
In 2015, Tommy was asked to be one of the award announcers at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
At 6’-2” with an athletic build, Tommy Kane also does some lifestyle modeling work for companies such as GA Power, Bealls Outlet, Vanity Napkins, Dental Magazine and Wisconsin Dell Tourism, to name a few.
Tommy’s production company, PACK30 PRODUCTIONS, LLC., and has done work for some amazing clients such as COMPASS ONE HEALTHCARE, JAMBA, MOE's SOUTHWEST GRILL, MIZUNO, DODGE, HONDA, FS SOUTH / SPORTSOUTH and the COCA-COLA COMPANY. (COKE hired PACK30 PRODUCTIONS in 2004 to shoot and produce an employee video in Athens, Greece during the 2004 Olympics.)
Tommy Kane received his BA from N.C. State University in Mass Communications – Radio and Television. While in school, he also was a member of the N.C. State men’s basketball team. He started as a manager for the late Jim Valvano and then realized a childhood dream when he walked-on the team under Coach Les Robinson during the 1992-93 season.
From 1999 – 2014, Kane was the head assistant coach for the varsity boys’ basketball team at the Lovett School in Atlanta. For a few summers during that time, he traveled the world coaching various USA boys basketball teams in the People To People program. He coached his team a gold medal in the 2004 World Youth Friendship Games in Australia as well as in the 2007 United Youth Games in Amsterdam.
Tommy is represented in Atlanta by Houghton Talent for TV / film work as well as for modeling. For print and commercial work in N.C., he is represented by Marilyn’s Model and Talent Agency out of Greensboro. And for print and commercial work out of Chicago and Virginia, he is represented by Modelogic – Whilemia.
